'Foreign' Drone Reported Crashed In Iran

Iran's semiofficial Fars news agency has reported that an unidentified "foreign" drone has crashed near the southern city of Shush.

The governor of Khuzestan Province made the announcement on November 21 but did not say whether the drone was shot down or crashed for other reasons.

In the past, Iran has claimed to have shot down or captured several U.S. surveillance drones.

In December 2011, Iranian officials said they had captured an advanced RQ-170 Sentinel drone controlled by the CIA.

Last year, Tehran claimed it had successfully tested its own drone based on the Sentinel. It has also said it is copying other captured drones.
