Imran Khan Leaves Hospital

Pakistani cricket star-turned politician Imran Khan has been discharged from the hospital some two weeks after he sustained serious back injuries in a fall in Lahore.

Khan fell from a fork-lift taking him to a poll campaign podium on May 7.

The accident, which fractured three vertebrae and a rib, largely sidelined Khan from campaigning days ahead of a general election on May 11.

However, Khan's largely successful campaign pushed his Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) from a marginal party to the country's third-largest.

A PTI spokesman, Naeemul Haq, said Khan left the hospital on May 22 and is at his home in the eastern city of Lahore.

He says Khan can walk and will be staying at home for a while so doctors can monitor his progress.
