Indian Divers Find Bodies From Sunk Submarine

Indian Navy divers have recovered the bodies of four of 18 sailors who were inside a Russian-built submarine that exploded and sank at its port in Mumbai.

The navy said the recovered bodies were severely burned.

It is believed that all the sailors who were aboard the "INS Sindhurakshak" perished in the August 14 incident, which is described as the biggest single loss for India's navy in four decades.

The submarine was armed with missiles and torpedoes, and the investigation is probing whether some of the weapons detonated.

The 16-year-old submarine had recently returned to India after receiving an upgrade to some of its systems by Russian experts.
