Indian police say a stampede on a bridge outside a Hindu temple on October 13 has killed at least 60 people and injured 100 others.
Police say dozens more may have died in the disaster in the Datia district of central Madhya Pradesh state, after they leaped into the water below.
Tens of thousands had gathered at the Ratangarh temple, about 60 kilometers from Datia town, for a religious festival.
Officials said the stampede was sparked by rumors that the bridge might collapse after being struck by a heavy tractor earlier in the day.
