Four Convicted In Indian Gang-Rape Murder Case

An Indian court has convicted four men for the gang rape and murder of a woman in New Delhi.

Sentences are expected to be handed down on September 11.

They could face the death penalty.

The 23-year-old student was repeatedly raped and beaten in a bus in December and left by the roadside, only to die of her injuries nearly two weeks later.

The case that generated huge protests across India.

All four defendants denied the charges.

In August, a juvenile court convicted an 18-year-old man in the first verdict in the case.

Because he was 17 at the time of the crime, he was sentenced to three years at a reform home.

A sixth defendant was found hanged in his prison cell in March.
