Indian Leader Modi Visits Kabul; To Address Parliament

Kabul -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 25 arrived in Kabul, where he will inaugurate the new building of Afghan's parliament built by India.

Modi concluded his visit to Moscow December 24 after signing as many as 16 trade and cultural pacts with the Russian Federation.

Tawab Ghorzang, Afghan National Security Council spokesman, told Radio Free Afghanistan that Modi will discuss bilateral relations including "Afghanistan and the region’s security," and that India has already delivered three military helicopters to Kabul.

Modi’s visit to Kabul - his first since taking office - was not announced earlier "due to security reasons," Indian media reported.

NDTV reports that Modi will address a joint session of both houses of the Afghan parliament in the new building.
