The deputy head of Iran's judiciary says that country has issued indictments against 18 current and former U.S. officials on charges of "criminal acts" against Iran.
Ebrahim Raisi said Iran is determined to provide the public with "valid documents" he claimed Tehran has about crimes against the country.
Raisi is quoted by the semiofficial Fars news agency as saying that charges against Americans include involvement in terrorist attacks.
He did not provide names or further details but said the public would be informed of Iran's next steps "soon."
Last year, Iran's parliament "blacklisted" 26 U.S. officials for various alleged crimes ranging from human rights violations to involvement in drug-trafficking.
