Netanyahu Warns Against Nuclear Deal With Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned world powers against concluding a deal with Iran to curb its nuclear program.

Netanyahu spoke to an assembly of the Jewish Federations of North America by satellite from Jerusalem.

Iran and six world powers including the United States have set a November 24 deadline for a deal that would eliminate fears Iran could develop nuclear weapons and lead to the removal of U.N. and Western sanctions againt Tehran.

Netanyahu said: "It's obvious that Iran wants to remove the sanctions that have had such a devastating impact on its economy, but it should be equally obvious that Iran is not prepared to dismantle its nuclear weapons program in return."

He said that "the alternative to a bad deal is not war."

Iran says its nuclear program is for exclusively peaceful purposes including power generation.
