Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says negotiations about Tehran’s nuclear program could continue at the World Economic Forum in Davos this week.
Zarif said on January 19 he might meet U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry or other ministers from the global powers engaged in the talks during the annual gathering, which opens at the Swiss ski resort on January 21 following a welcome reception on January 20.
Nuclear negotiators from Iran, the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France, and Germany are to meet again next month after what a Western diplomat said was "limited" progress at the January 18 talks in Geneva.
Russia's top negotiator at the talks, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, said the parties "definitely" have the political will to reach a deal to curb Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.
After missing two self-imposed deadlines last year, Iran and the six powers are aiming for a political agreement by March and a detailed deal by June 30.
