Kerry, Zarif To Hold Nuclear Talks On March 26

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will meet with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in Switzerland on March 26 to discuss a deal to curb Tehran's controversial nuclear program.

An official for Kerry said the talks will be held in Lausanne.

Iran and officials from six world powers -- Britain, France, Germany, China, Russia, and the United States -- have been meeting for months to reach a deal to cutting back the potential of Iran's nuclear program in exchange for relief from international economic sanctions.

A framework agreement is due by March 31 and a full deal by June 30.

Kerry said on March 21, one day after the last round of talks with Zarif, that"substantial progress" had been made in the negotiations but that important "gaps" still stand in the way of an agreement.
