Russia's foreign minister says Moscow wants to continue to help Iran develop its nuclear-energy industry.
Sergei Lavrov said after talks in Tehran with his counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, that "we see such interest on the Iranian side, and we know about Iran's plans to build more power units identical to Bushehr."
Russia helped build Iran's nuclear reactor at Bushehr, which was completed in 2011.
Zarif said "we hope that we will be able to develop our [peaceful nuclear] cooperation [with Russia]."
The comments come after last month's nuclear deal between Iran and six world powers -- including Russia -- to curb Tehran's controversial nuclear program.
Zarif added that Tehran expected Russia to implement signed contracts to supply Iran with S-300 air-defense systems.
