Iran Says Reporter Kidnapped In Syria

Iran's Arabic language television network has said that one of its Syria-based reporters had been abducted by rebels.

The Al-Alam channel said journalist Ahmad Sattouf was taken by "armed terrorist groups" as he returned to his home in the central city of Homs.

The channel did not say when exactly Sattouf was kidnapped but said he had been missing for "several days."

Al-Alam added that "the rebels also attacked and ransacked" its office in Homs.

The kidnapping is just one of a number of reported abductions of foreign and Syrian journalists during the conflict.

Three Syrian state TV journalists were reportedly abducted by rebels on August 10 as they accompanied government troops near Damascus.

Meanwhile, last week a bomb attack on state television headquarters wounded several people.
