Iranian Vice President Ali Saidlu has begun an official visit to Cuba.
An official statement said Saidlu met with Cuban Vice President Jose Ramon Machado in Havana, after which they stressed the "excellent state of bilateral ties."
The statement said Saidlu relayed to his Cuban counterpart an invitation for President Raul Castro to attend the Non Aligned Movement summit in Tehran in August.
Saidlu is President Mahmud Ahmadinejad’s deputy for international affairs.
His visit comes five months after Ahmadinejad’s trip to Havana to meet with the Cuban president and his brother, former revolutionary and longtime leader Fidel Castro.
