Iran's Rohani To Visit Turkey Next Week

Iranian President Hassan Rohani is expected to visit Turkey next week to meet with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Iran’s official IRNA news agency reported on June 5 that the visit would take place on June 9.

AFP news agency quoted a Turkish official as saying that Rohani is expected to be accompanied by a large delegation of ministers.

The unidentified official said the discussions would touch upon bilateral ties and the broader Middle East.

Iran and Turkey have been at odds over the conflict in Syria, with Erdogan backing the armed opposition and Iran supporting President Bashar al-Assad.

Iran's controversial nuclear program will also likely be on the agenda of the talks.
