Shootings, Bomb Attacks Target Iraq Security Officials

Reports from Iraq say security officials were targeted by at least three bomb attacks on November 3.

Three police officers were killed at their headquarters in the central Iraqi city of Baquba when a suicide bomber targeted the building.

Security and medical officials in Baquba say the blasts were followed by a gun battle between authorities and militants.

Meanwhile, in the northwestern town of Tal Afar, a suicide car bomber drove his explosives-laden vehicle into a police checkpoint, killing two police and injuring three civilian passers-by.

Two soldiers were also killed when their checkpoint came under attack by gunmen in the northern city of Mosul.

Police say an Iraqi army officer was killed to the south of Baghdad when a roadside bomb exploded while his convoy was passing by.
