At Least Eight Killed, 20 Injured By Suicide Car Bombers In Fallujah

At least eight people have been killed and about 20 wounded by two separate suicide car bomb attacks against police checkpoints in Fallujah, Iraq.

The November 14 attacks in the city to the west of Baghdad are the first there since Iraqi government forces recaptured Fallujah from Islamic State militants in June.

Both car bomb attacks were in the central part of the city.

The attacks came as Iraqi government forces -- together with allied and Sunni tribesmen, Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, and Shi’ite militia groups -- continue to battle IS militants in and around the IS-controlled northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
