Iraq's government has summoned Turkey's ambassador to Baghdad to protest the behavior of two Turkish diplomats.
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry said one of its officials met on May 15 with the Turkish ambassador, Younis Demirer, to complain about the Turkish general consuls in Basra and Mosul.
The statement said some of their activities were "far from their consular duties and obligations."
The ministry did not elaborate.
The incident is the latest episode in a row between Iraq and Turkey that has seen the prime ministers both neighboring countries trade criticisms and accusations several times this year.
In April, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki of fanning tensions between Sunnis, Shi'ites and Kurds.
Maliki responded by accusing Turkey of seeking regional hegemony.
