Iraq Urges Citizens To Leave Syria

The Iraqi government has called on its citizens currently in Syria to leave that country and come back home due to "increasing attacks" on Iraqi nationals.

According the UNHCR, up to 1.5 million Iraqis fled the violence in their country to the relative safety of neighboring Syria.

The call to return comes after the bodies of two Iraqi journalists who were allegedly stabbed and shot in the Damascus area were handed over to Iraqi guards at a border post on July 16.
