British Driver Convicted Of Plotting To Attack U.S. Troops

A British delivery driver has been convicted of plotting to attack American military personnel based in England.

A London court on April 1 found Junead Khan, 25, guilty of preparing terrorist acts.

Investigators say that Khan, a supporter of the Islamic State (IS) extremist group, scouted U.S. Air Force bases in eastern England using his job as cover.

Police found messages between him and an IS fighter in Syria who called himself Abu Hussain.They discussed attacking military personnel after faking a road accident, prosecutors said.

Police officers, who searched Khan's home, found an IS-style black flag and a laptop containing an article from an Al-Qaeda magazine, entitled "Make a bomb in the kitchen of your mom."

Khan and his uncle, Shazib Khan, 23, were also convicted of planning to join IS in Syria.

They will be sentenced on May 13.

Junead Khan could face life in prison.
