Israel Launches What It Calls 'Pre-Emptive Strike' On Iran

Israel's Defense Ministry said on February 28 that it launched a "preemptive strike" on Iran and sent a national announcement warning Israeli citizens to remain near protected areas.

"The State of Israel has launched a preemptive strike against Iran," Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a statement, declaring a "special and immediate state of emergency" throughout Israel.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or confirmation from Iran of the attacks.
