Two Injured In Independence Day Blast In Central Kyiv

Police say two people have been injured in an explosion in the center of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.

"Information on the explosion of an unknown object in Hrushevskiy Street was reported to the police at 2:06 p.m. A man and a woman were injured," the Kyiv police said on August 24.

There were no other details about the incident, which came as Ukraine celebrated Independence Day with a military parade in central Kyiv and other events.

U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and other foreign officials were in town.
