Scraping Out A Living On Kyrgyz Gold

Murat Duisheev teaches physical education in a village in southeastern Kyrgyzstan. But to supplement his wages, in his spare time he pans for gold in a nearby river. This beautiful video was filmed by a young Kyrgyz director, Amanbek Ajymat, and was among the winners of a competition held by RFE/RL’s Kyrgyz Service.
