Kyrgyz Authorities Investigating Pro-Tsarnaev Posters

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev

The Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security (UKMK) is trying to find out who distributed posters expressing support for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

The UKMK said that sheets of paper appeared on walls and fences around the Kyrgyz capital this week with Tsarnaev's picture and text saying: "Dzhokhar is innocent, pray for Dzhokhar!"

Tsarnaev, 19, is an ethnic Chechen who spent his early years in Kyrgyzstan and later emigrated to the United States.

He is charged with plotting the April 15 bombing with his older brother, Tamerlan, who died after a gunbattle with police.

Tsarnaev faces life in prison or the death penalty if convicted.

Three people were killed and more than 260 wounded when two homemade bombs were detonated near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
