At Least Three Reported Dead In Security Operation Near Kyrgyz Capital

WATCH: A third suspect was detained, and a member of the security forces was also killed in the raid in the village of Besh-Kungoi, near the capital.

Two suspects in the killing of three policemen have been killed during a security operation in a village just outside Bishkek.

Interior Minister Zarylbek Rysaliev confirmed the deaths to RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service, adding that one of the suspects had been apprehended alive and said more details would be available soon.

The three suspects are believed to be responsible for the killing of three policemen who were carrying out identity checks in the Kyrgyz capital late on January 4.

Kyrgyz police posted on its site the pictures of six people, all born in Kyrgyzstan and aged between 24 and 38, suspected of killing the three policemen.
