Authorities say one airport security officer was killed and seven other people were injured when a gunman opened fire at the Los Angeles International Airport on November 1.
Police said the suspected gunman had been taken into custody.
Airport police chief Patrick Gannon said police believe that the gunman acted alone. He told a news conference that the suspect opened fire with an assault rifle after entering Terminal 3.
A spokesman for the Transit Security Administration, the government agency charged with ensuring security at all U.S. airports, said separately that one of its agents was killed in the incident and another one was injured. All outbound flights from the airport were suspended.
Air traffic was affected nationwide as flights that had not yet departed for Los Angeles were grounded.
