Fuel Tank Explosion Kills Many In Sirte

Dozens of people were reported killed when fuel tanks exploded in the Libyan city of Sirte.

The broadcaster Al-Arabiya said around 100 people were killed in the blast, which occurred late on October 24 as crowds of people gathered near the fuel tanks to fill up their cars.

Sirte is the hometown of Muammar Qaddafi, where fighters of Libya's new authorities captured the ousted leader on October 20 after weeks of fighting.
