The man behind the making of the anti-Islam movie “Innocence of Muslims” has been sent to jail for one year in California.
Mark Basseley Youssef, an Egyptian-born Coptic Christian, was ordered back to prison on November 7 for probation violations stemming from his role in making the film, which sparked sometimes deadly protests in some parts of the Middle East.
Youssef, 55, had admitted guilt in U.S. federal court in Los Angeles to allegations of using false identities in violation of the terms of his probation for a bank fraud conviction in 2010.
None of the violations were directly related to the content of "Innocence of Muslims," which depicts Mohammad as a religious fraud, a cheat, a sexual deviant, and a womanizer.
