Trial Of Michael Jackson Doctor Opens

Michael Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, appeared with attorney Ed Chernoff for his arraignment at the Los Angeles Superior Court Airport Courthouse in Los Angeles in early 2010.

Michael Jackson's personal physician, Conrad Murray, has gone on trial in Los Angeles, charged with involuntary manslaughter of the singer.

Prosecutors say he acted with "gross negligence" over the star's death from a drug overdose two years ago.

The defense says Jackson gave himself too much of the drug, a sleeping aid.

If convicted, Murray could face four years in jail and the loss of his medical license.

Jackson died on June 25, 2009, as the 50-year-old star was preparing for a series of comeback concerts.
