Serbian Orthodox Church Again Protests Against Montenegro's Religion Law

Thousands marched in central Podgorica, Montenegro's capital, on February 29 marking St. Simeon Day, a festive occasion for the Serbian Orthodox Church, which took the opportunity to reiterate its opposition to Montenegro's law on freedom of religion. Metropolitan Onufriy, head of Ukraine's Moscow-led Orthodox Church, led the procession. The Serbian Orthodox Church fears Montenegrin authorities aim to seize its property, which the government denies.
