Military: 78 Dead In Morocco Plane Crash

Morocco's military has said in a statement that 78 people were killed when one of its C-130 military planes crashed in a mountainous region in the southwest of the country.

The statement said three people were seriously injured.

The official MAP news agency said previously that the plane, which was carrying military personnel, crashed as it attempted to land at the airport of the town of Guelmim.

Guelmim lies 830 kilometers southwest of the capital Rabat, just north of the disputed Western Sahara territory and several dozen kilometers from the Atlantic coast.
