Health officials in Moscow were telling residents not to worry after a foul-smelling odor hit parts of the Russian capital.
City officials blamed the smell on accidental emissions caused on November 10 during maintenance of a gas-processing plant on the outskirts of the city.
Officials said the smell was caused by sulfur dioxide released from the plant but added the amount that had escaped briefly exceeded the norm but was not sufficient to cause harm to people.
The bad smell led to many Moscow residents calling local authorities to report the problem, but the city branch of the Emergency Situations Ministry said while the odor had made some people "feel bad" there had not been any serious health problems connected to the incident.
