For One 21-Year-Old New Zealander, War In Ukraine Means A Chance To 'Fight For Freedom'

A soldier who goes by the call sign "Kiwi" was still a teenager in Wellington, New Zealand, when he saw Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on the news in February 2022. As the war dragged on, he learned he could enlist and fight alongside the forces defending Ukraine. RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service spoke to the young drone operator about what motivated him to join the war effort halfway around the world.
