Nigerian police say at least 28 people were killed when gunmen attacked a boarding school in the country's northeast.
The incident, which occurred before dawn on July 6, targeted the Government Secondary School in the village of Potiskum in Yobe State.
Survivors were rushed to hospital, where they were receiving treatment for burns and gunshot wounds.
Officials said security forces have been deployed to the area.
No group has taken responsibility for the attack.
But similar incidents have previously been blamed on Islamic extremists in the region.
Dozens of schools have been torched and scores of students have been killed by extremists since 2010.
