Three deaths have been reported at three separate anticorporate greed "Occupy" protest camps in the United States.

Police in the northern California city of Oakland said they are investigating the shooting death of a man at the encampment in front of Oakland City Hall.

Police said it was not clear if the men involved in the violence were associated with the Occupy movement.

In the eastern state of Vermont, police said preliminary investigations show that a 35-year-old U.S. military veteran shot and killed himself at an Occupy camp in the city of Burlington.

In the western state of Utah, police said a man was found dead inside his tent at an Occupy camp in Salt Lake City.

Police said they are investigating whether the death was caused by a combination of drugs and carbon monoxide poisoning.

The deaths come after a 53-year-old man was found dead inside a tent at the Occupy New Orleans encampment on November 8.
