The Onexim holding company controlled by Russian oligarch Mikhail Prokhorov is reportedly seeking to sell off all of its assets in Russia.

The Vedomosti newspaper quoted unidentified insider sources on July 4 as saying the company was seeking buyers for its stakes in the Rusal aluminum producer, the Uralkali potash firm, the Quadra power generator, and other firms.

Onexim declined to issue a formal statement on the reports.

In April, agents of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) conducted a search of Onexim's Moscow headquarters, reportedly in connection with a tax investigation.

In May, an investigation was launched into the RBC media group, which is owned by Prokhorov.

RBC reportedly angered President Vladimir Putin's Kremlin by reporting on Putin’s daughter, Katerina Tikhonova, and with its reporting on the Russian angles of the Panama Papers leak.

Prokhorov is a billionaire who also owns the Brooklyn Nets NBA basketball franchise in the United States.
