In Moscow, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was among a huge crowd of worshippers attending Mass at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow.<br />

Mass was also held in Bethlehem in the West Bank and Alexandria in Egypt, among other places.<br />

Orthodox Christians who celebrate Christmas on January 7 do so because they follow the Julian calendar, which is 13 days behind the new Gregorian calendar of most other Christians.<br />
