Pakistani police fired bullets into the air and used tear gas to disperse demonstrators protesting killings they blame on Pakistani security forces.

At least 13 people were injured in the chaos outside the governor's residence in the northwestern city of Peshawar.

At least 14 people were killed earlier this week in the Sipah Alam Goodar area in what relatives say was a raid by Pakistani security forces.

Military sources have denied that security forces were involved and blamed the deaths on militants.

The relatives had carried coffins and displayed the bullet-riddled bodies of the dead as part of the protest.

Police seized the bodies and sent them to their village, where they were handed to local officials for burial.
