Pakistan Suicide Bomber Kills Police Officers

A senior Pakistani police investigator, at least three other police officers, and two civilians have been killed by a suicide bomber in the northwestern city of Peshawar.

A correspondent for RFE/RL's Radio Mashaal reports that Superintendent of Police Hilal Haider died in the attack, which took place in the busy Qissa Khwani Bazaar.

A police official said the bomber was on foot and targeted Haider's vehicle outside a police station.

At least 27 others were wounded and taken to the hospital.

There is no word yet on who was behind the attack or a possible motive for the strike in the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
