The death toll has risen to 10 people, with a least 12 others injured, over the past 48 hours as heavy rains and landslides have wreaked havoc in Pakistan’s northwestern Kyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, officials said on March 31. Khateer Ahmed, head of the regional rescue service, earlier told RFE/RL that four children under the age of 10 were among the dead.
