At Least 12 Killed In Pakistani Train Collision

Pakistani officials say at least 12 people were killed after a train crashed into a packed motorcycle rickshaw in eastern Punjab Province.

Officials said the high-speed train traveling from the country's largest city Karachi to Lahore crushed the rickshaw in the city of Sheikhupura, some 35 kilometers from Lahore, while it was trying to cross the railway tracks instead of using the railway crossing.

Rescue workers said there were at least 16 people in the vehicle when the accident occurred.

At least two children were among those killed.

The injured have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
