Pakistan Sentences Bin Laden Wives

A Pakistani court has given 45-day jail sentences and 10,000-rupee ($110) fines to family members of Al-Qaeda terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

The sentences were handed down Monday to three Bin Laden widows -- two from Saudi Arabia and one from Yemen -- and two of his daughters, following their convictions for illegally entering and staying in Pakistan.

The court ordered the government to arrange sending the women back to their home countries.

Judge Shahrukh Arjumand noted that the women have already spent a month in detention, meaning they could be freed and deported after two more weeks.

Bin Laden's family was detained by the Pakistani authorities in May after the Al-Qaeda leader was killed in a raid by U.S. commandos in Abbottabad.
