Pakistani Opposition Politician Shot Dead Along With His Father

Pakistani police say an opposition politician has been assassinated by unknown gunmen in the city of Karachi.

Mian Taimur's car was reportedly ambushed by gunmen on a motorcycle who shot dead the politician and his father late on January 22.

Taimur was a leader in the southern province of Sindh for the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, the country's main opposition party led by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

It is the second such killing in Karachi in a week.
