Pentagon Says Recent Strikes On Islamic State May Have Killed Civilians

The Pentagon said on September 13 that three strikes on Islamic State targets in Syria over the past six days "may have resulted in civilian casualties."

The incidents took place on September 7 near Az Zawr, on September 10 near Raqqa, and on Dayz September 12 near Ash Shaddadah, according to a statement from the U.S. Central Command.

It did not give a number of dead or injured.

It said the September 7 and September 12 raids both struck nonmilitary vehicles that drove into the target area after weapons were released from the aircraft.
