British police have promised an investigation into security lapses in London on December 9 when a car carrying Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne, was caught up in violent student protests.
The car carrying Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, was spattered with paint and a window was shattered by demonstrators who chanted, "Off with their heads." The couple was unhurt.
Parliament voted to increase university fees threefold as tens of thousands of students rallied against the raise, clashing with police and damaging property.
Police said at least eight police officers and 13 protesters were injured, and 34 protesters were arrested.
Prime Minister David Cameron condemned the violence and promised "the full force of the law" would be brought against those who perpetrated it.
Student leaders have called for more demonstrations.
