Russia's Putin To Meet EU's Juncker

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker at the St. Petersburg economic forum on June 16.

Possible topics for discussion include relations between Russia and the European Union, anti-Russian sanctions and Russian countermeasures, and the EU's migration crisis, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said on June 15..

Putin and Juncker might also discuss international problems, such as the stalled peace talks to end the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine, he said.

They will also discuss energy-related issues, including the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline project and prospects for resuming energy dialogue between Russia and the EU.

After meeting with Juncker, Putin will visit with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to discuss efforts against terrorism, the situation in Syria, and the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
