Putin Vows To Rebuild Homes In Flood-Hit Region

Russian President Vladimir Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin promised flood victims that the government would rebuild homes as he visited the disaster-hit Black Sea region of Krymsk on July 25.

Putin was filmed talking to pregnant women from the worst-affected town and again accused local officials of not doing enough to warn people in time about the flood waters.

Flash floods in the early hours of July 7 killed 171 people and damaged more than 4,000 homes.

The visit is the third by the president to the region in less than a month.
