Renowned Indian Guru Dies

One of India's most revered spiritual leaders, Satya Sai Baba, has died at the age of 85 following heart problems.

Sai Baba is believed to have millions of followers around the world. He counted among his devotees former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, politicians, businessmen, cricketers and Hollywood stars.

Sai Baba was said to perform miracles, and many of his followers considered him a living god.

His organization funded hospitals and schools, but Sai Baba was also involved in controversies, with critics accusing him of faking his miracles and sexual abuse.

Hundreds of thousands are expected in his hometown of Puttaparthi, in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, for his funeral later this week.
