Around 200 people gathered in central Bucharest on December 21 to mark the 25th anniversary of the violent overthrow of Romania's communist leader Nicolae Ceausescu in 1989. The crowd lit candles to remember the victims of the revolution, in which security forces killed dozens of protestors. The revolution came after communist regimes had fallen in several other eastern European countries. (Reuters)
