Russia's Oldest Actor Dies At 101

Vladimir Zeldin appears in the 1941 film The Swineherd And The Shepherd, playing a Daghestani shepherd.

Russia's oldest working actor, Vladimir Zeldin, has died at the age of 101 at a Moscow clinic.

Officials at the Sklifosovsky medical center in the Russian capital said that Zeldin was treated for high blood pressure for the last three weeks in a military hospital and transferred to their clinic on October 29.

Zeldin was pronounced dead at 9 a.m. local time on October 31.

Despite his age, Zeldin remained a leading actor at the Russian Army's Central Academic Theater in Moscow.
