Suspects Named In Killing Of Ingushetia Official

Former Ingushetia Security Council head Akhmed Kotiev

Russian investigators say they have identified three individuals allegedly involved in the killing of a top regional security official in Russia's volatile North Caucasus.

On October 2, the Investigative Committee announced that two residents of Ingushetia -- -- Akhmed Yevloyev, 23, and Magomed Polonkoyev, 26 -- have been placed on the wanted list in connection with the killings.

A third suspect, Artur Dolsayev, 27, from Chechnya, was arrested on September 4.

Militants in Ingushetia, Daghestan, Chechnya, and Kabardino-Balkaria frequently attack police, moderate Muslims, and local officials, saying they are fighting to create an Islamic state in southern Russia.
